Laboratory Space
The first and second floors have a number of core and general laboratories for nanoscale research projects. Core laboratories for interdisciplinary research include space for advanced optical imaging; surface characterization using scanning probe microscopy; ultra high vacuum techniques; device assembly and processing of nano-devices and sensors; a wide range of sample preparation facilities for both organic and inorganic materials; and molecular foundaries for synthesis and processing of organic and inorganic materials. There are also several general laboratories for interdisciplinary research projects, analysis, and general characterization.
Laboratory space is also used to nucleate and support major NS&T projects. At present the Center for Nano-Bio Sensors occupies some lab and office space on the second floor.
